Today, the Hogar del Corazón de Jesús of the Guayaquil Charity Board (JBG) celebrated International Senior Citizens Day with a moving program that brought together residents, staff, and special guests for a day of joy, reflection, and gratitude.
The opening included an artistic performance by its residents, Isabel Espinoza, who delighted with several songs, and an inspiring speech by Luz María Torres, on behalf of the Hogar community. Luz María has resided at the Hogar del Corazón de Jesús for 35 years. In addition, lawyers Daniela Enríquez and Jhonn Moyon shared a talk on the rights of older adults, reinforcing the importance of respect and comprehensive protection.
The celebration also offered spaces for integration with music, dance, and refreshments, allowing residents to enjoy a special day.
This day marks the beginning of an agenda of activities that will take place throughout October, with artistic presentations, intergenerational meetings, health talks, and recreation, whose objective is to honor the life, experience, and wisdom of the 350 older adults who reside in the Hogar.
With this broad agenda recognizing the life and contributions of older adults to society, the Hogar del Corazón de Jesús of the JBG reinforces its dedication and expertise in the dignified, humane, and comprehensive care of the elderly who are part of its community.
