For 39 years I have lived in the Hogar del Coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas of the Board of Charity where I found the happiness and family love that was denied to me at birth. Here we are always active and that keeps us happy,\u201d said Luz Mar\u00eda, who was also born with polio, which has kept her in limited conditions for her mobilization. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;\">Luz is one of the nearly 350 seniors who will benefit from this new multipurpose room that was inaugurated to offer them a new space to carry out enriching activities such as art therapy, play therapy, crafts, cognitive and motor stimulation, and social work workshops. All this in an accessible and safe environment, designed especially for the needs of the residents, including those with reduced mobility. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;\">The new room also has a free-use game library, equipped with board games that promote social interaction and recreation at any time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;\">Juan Xavier Cordovez, director of the JBG, pointed out that these significant changes and renovation of spaces such as the inaugurated room are part of the institutional commitment to provide a better quality of life for seniors. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;\">During the event, the residents showed their talent through demonstrations of skills acquired in the workshops, thus celebrating the tangible benefits of this new infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;\">This project had the support of the private company: Grupasa and Muebles El Bosque, who provided the furniture<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Luz Mar\u00eda Torres, told her story to the attendees. \u201cI was abandoned at birth and since then I have lived in different nursing homes in the capital and Guayaquil.
